The Tour de Bowness continued on Sunday, July 31, with a challenging hill climb for some of Western Canada’s top cycling athletes.

The race was held on McKay Road NW, and pushed the riders in a timed trial along a 900 meter track with a 43 metre elevation gain.

Brad Hickley finished first in the Men’s Category 1/2 race, racing to a 1:28.5 finishing time almost a second over the second place finisher Connor Howe with the Rundle Mountain Cycling Club.

Ivaine Blondin, an indepedent racer, finished first in the Women’s Category 1/2/3 race with a time of 1:52.5. She was a full 5 seconds faster than second place finisher Kelsey Duffield with 1:57.9.

Colton Zabolotney finished first in the U17 category with a time of 1:48.1. And Jack Purdy with Bicisport finished first in the U15 category with a time of 2:01.6.

The Tour de Bowness wraps on the Heritage Day Monday with the Cory Meza Memorial Criterium races on Bowness Road. Races start at 9:00 am.
