Calgary police are investigating the suspicious deaths of two people in a far northeast community early Wednesday.

Officers were called out to a home on the corner of Redstone Park and Redstone Street around 12:41 a.m. on Jan. 28 after reports of a disturbance.

When police arrived, two people were found suffering from severe injuries. Life-saving efforts failed at the scene and one person was declared dead. The other was transported to the hospital, where they later died.

Calgary police said the investigation is ongoing and there is no risk to the public.

Mid-Wednesday morning, two officers were on the scene, with police vehicles near the home’s driveway and rear alleyway. Both sides of the property were marked with police tape.

Alan Mackinnon, a passerby who lives in the neighbourhood, said he did not know the victims and called the death eerie.

“It is quiet this morning, scary when it’s so close to home,” he said.

Police said more information will be released after autopsies are done on the victims later this week.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 403-266-1234.
