Photos: Dueling protests over Sean Chu return to downtown

Downtown Calgary once again was the site of a pair of dueling protests about Ward 4 Councillor Sean Chu.

Both sparsely attended protests made their voices heard through slogan and sign, largely to the backdrop of Christmas music played for skaters at Olympic Plaza.

While the anti-Sean Chu protestors kept the focus on the allegations regarding his sexual contact with a 16 year-old girl in 1997 while he was a police officer, the pro-Chu protestors took aim at Mayor Jyoti Gondek, the city’s climate emergency declaration, and the media for reporting on Chu.

Previous protests in October drew hundreds to Calgary civic centre.
