The Calgary Police Service has said that the death of 55-year-old Rhonda Waite, who also went by Rhonda Joroszek, is now believed to be a homicide.
In a release sent by CPS on March 4, police said that in the past two years witnesses have come forward to provide new information that has led investigators to believe Waite was killed.
Waite was found in an abandoned home, now demolished, on 14 Avenue NE.
“We are urging the community, and anyone with information about Rhonda’s death to come forward so we can provide answers to her family,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit.
“Even though two and a half years have passed, any information about Rhonda can have a significant impact on the investigation. We have been in contact with some witnesses, but believe there are more individuals who have information in relation to this homicide.”
The service is asking anyone who was in the 200 block of 14 Avenue NE on August 2022, and may have information, to contact police at 403-266-1234 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
