Calgary police are looking for a man and a woman in connection with a fatal stabbing Friday evening in the East Village.

Police have now released closed-circuit television images of the pair they believe are connected to the death of a victim around 7 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of 7 Avenue SE.

Officers were called to that location after reports of an assault involving a weapon.

According to police, the incident involved two men known to each other who got into a fight. One of the men had a knife and stabbed the other, police said.

Police said they spoke with witnesses and reviewed CCTV footage in the area and have now released photos of a man and a woman.

“This was a brazen act of violence that claimed a person’s life,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit.

“We are working to determine exactly what happened and are asking anyone with information to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
