Calgary’s 48th shooting incident of 2026 injured an innocent bystander, and police are looking for the public’s help to advance the investigation.

Officers were called to a shooting outside the Red Room Lounge (314-3 Street SE) on July 13 around 4:45 a.m. When police arrived, they located a woman in her 20s who had suffered a grazing injury, police said.

The victim was transported to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition, police said.

Police said that the incident happened after two men began fighting outside the location, with one person firing a gun.

According to police, between 100 and 150 people were in the area at the time, and they’re hoping to speak with anyone with information about the incident.

“So far, only three people have chosen to come forward and speak with us,” said Staff Sergeant Mike Sushelnitsky of the District 1 General Investigations Unit.

“Our efforts rely on strong community support, and we know there are other witnesses who are choosing not to come forward. We will not tolerate acts of senseless violence, especially when innocent bystanders are injured.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234.
