It’s the final Sunday of the Calgary Stampede and there’s a lot to do and a big cash on the line. Oh, and there’s a potential attendance record in the midst if the rain holds off just long enough.

Nearly 151,000 took in the final Saturday at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, bringing the nine-day total to 1,348,584. On a notoriously quiet Sunday, the Calgary Stampede needs to draw 130,000 to break last year’s attendance record.

Here’s a look at how attendance has shaken out over the past four years.

The final rodeo Sunday is shaping up to be a good one, as the top riders, ropers and wrestlers will get their shot at $50,000. The top three contestants from each event in Pool A, B, and C will compete in the Championship Round to start. Then the top three overall contestants in the Championship round will compete for the big payday.

In Saturday’s action, Garrett Shadbolt from Merriman, Nebraska, went back-to-back with another Bareback win, scoring an 87 aboard Welcome Delivery. Wyatt Casper from Miami, Texas, also won his second straight in Saddle Bronc with an 88-point ride aboard OLS Tubs Magic Carpet. In Bull Riding, Wade Tuni from Rock Point, Arizona, was rock steady aboard Rock Steady, riding to an 87 and the day money.

Trevor Hale from Perryton, Texas, beat out the nearest competitor by only a tenth of a second, with 6.7 in Tie Down Roping. In Steer Wrestling, Jesse Brown from Baker City, Oregon, went sub-4 seconds to capture the day money on Saturday.

In Ladies Barrel Racing, Leslie Smalygo squeaked out a win by one-hundredth of a second, locking in a 16.93 to win. In Breakaway Roping, Jackie Crawford from Stephenville, Texas, almost broke the two-second barrier, with a 2.1 seconds and the win. Full rodeo results can be found here.

The final Sunday of the Rangeland Derby is set, and the Dash for Cash will see Chanse Vigen (Lethbridge Lodging Association), Jamie Laboucane (Panorama Advisory Group), and Jason Glass compete in the Championship final heat.

On Saturday, Rae Croteau Jr (Bar L-5 Ranch) drove to the fastest time at 1:11.84, with Jason Glass (Birchcliff Energy) only six hundredths behind. Full chuckwagon results can be found here.
