Two Calgary Catholic School District trustees were sworn in on Tuesday shortly after official results were announced by the city.

Maria-Teresa Vecchio Romano will represent Wards 4 and 7 while Chantelle Dur will represent Wards 11 and 12. They were sworn in at an Oath of Office meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

The two new trustees will serve the remainder of the 2021-2025 term, the city said.

Both trustees said they are excited to serve on the CCSD Board of Trustees, even though their terms are only eight months long.

“Personally, I’m excited to read the material and to get my highlighter out and get going and learning everything … And just being able to to sit amongst the wonderful other trustees that are currently sitting into and to assist and to help and to support this beautiful district of ours and the people who we serve, parents and students.,” Vecchio-Romano told LWC on Tuesday.

Dur said she is excited but also a little bit intimidated.

“There’s a lot of paper to read, but yeah, excited just to learn from the other trustees, and to just get into the thick of it for sure,” she said.
