Calgary Police looking for male suspect in March homicide

The Calgary Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating a man believed to be connected to a March 25 homicide that occurred in the community of Shawnessy.

The victim of that homicide, 29-year-old Liban Abdirahman, was killed after being shot multiple times in a suite at a Super 8 hotel.

Police said that after exhausting all investigative avenues to identify the suspect in the homicide, that they are turning to the public for help.

“We are asking anyone who believes they have information that will help us identify this individual to come forward,” said Acting Staff Sgt. John Pearson.

“One man lost his life, and the person responsible needs to be held accountable.”

The suspect is described as being male, in his mid-20s, approximately six-feet tall, and was believed to be wearing blue shoes, camouflage jeans, and wearing a long green winter coat.

CPS said that they believe the suspect has ties to Edmonton.

The suspect was last seen driving a grey 2016 to 2018 model hatchback Ford Focus.
