One in custody after SW Calgary suspicious death

Calgary police have taken one person into custody after a weekend death in the city’s southwest.

Emergency services responded to a call at a residence in the 200 block of Shawcliffe Circle SW on March 17 around 7:15 p.m. after reports of a man in medical distress.

The man was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Attempts to save his life were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

One person has been taken into custody in connection to this event.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on March 22.

No further information will be provided until the autopsy is completed.
