Notre Dame High School delivered a pair of blow-out defeats to their rivals on Thursday evening, after a 43-0 win in senior girls rugby over Western Canada High School and a 21-3 win in senior boys ruby over Bishop Carroll High School.
Notre Dame finished the season with six wins and no losses for each of the teams, heading into the season end with 24 points a piece.
Western Canada High School went into the senior girls’ city championship playoffs with a season record of three and three, but defeated second-place Henry Wise Wood High School 15-7 in the semi-finals to match against Notre Dame.
On the boys side, Notre Dame faced second-place season finisher Bishop Carroll, which had a record of five and one going into the championship playoffs.
The provincial high school rugby championships will be taking place at the Calgary Rugby Union on June 9 and 10.
