The 2022 Calgary Stampede Bell Grandstand Show will pay tribute to Calgary’s historic music scene.

The show, titled Amplified, will also have Canadian country music artist Dean Brody for all 10 nights of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. It will also feature song and dance from the storied Young Canadians.

The real draw, however, is likely to be the journey through Calgary’s music history. The show will take audiences through some of Calgary’s iconic live music venues like The Palace, King Eddy, Ranchmans, the Grand and more.

The Calgary Stampede said the show will have a bit of nostalgia for many Calgarians. They’ll have musical numbers from the 1960s to the present.

“This year’s Grandstand Show is a party, celebrating the music, sounds and heart of this city that we call home,” said Angela Benson, Director and Choreographer, Bell Grandstand Show.

“We are so excited to bring together all the amazing aspects of our show, but this year it’s going to be bigger, better and amplified!”

Brody: Stampede is a favourite to play

Country musician Dean Brody, who’s had seven number one songs, 18 CCMAs, two Juno Awards and one Country Music Award, will appear for 10 nights at the Grandstand Show.

“The Calgary Stampede is one of my favourite places to play,” said Brody, in a prepared release.

“I’m honoured to get the opportunity to take the stage for 10 nights this year, alongside some incredible Canadian talents.”

Also appearing at this year’s Grandstand Show is trick roper Loop Rawlins. Rawlins gained fame on the show America’s Got Talent and Cirque du Soleil.

Mohawk-Canadian artist Shawnee Kish will also perform.

There will also be a high-flying performance from Circus Concepts.

And, of course, fireworks.

The Calgary Stampede goes July 8 to 17, 2022. Grandstand Show tickets can be found here.
