Friday, Oct. 11

HEX Halloween and Entertainment Expo

What: The first ever expo dedicated to all things Halloween. HEX Halloween and Entertainment Expo features haunted houses, escape rooms, Halloween workshops, carnival games and a Halloween focused trade-show. Meet celebrities like Halloweens, Mike Myers and Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy Kruger. Family friendly.

Pasta La Feasta

What: Nine Calgary restaurants have teamed up for the first ever Pasta La Feasta. Each restaurant will feature a select pasta dish to give back to the community. From every dish sold, $3 will go directly to The Alex Community Food Centre. Participating restaurants include, Alforno, Bread & Circus and Anju.  

When: October 11 ā€“ 24, 2019.

Hempfest Calgary Expo

What: Hempfest brings together a variety of exhibitors, speakers and demonstrations to provide education on cannabis use. This is an 18-and-over event. Valid ID required for entry.

When: October 11 ā€“ 12, 2019

Time: Friday 3 to 8 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 12

Thanksgiving Weekend at Heritage Park

What: Your last chance to check out Heritage Park’s Historical Village before it shuts down for the year. Enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, pumpkin baking demonstrations and other themed crafts and activities.Ā 

When: October 12 ā€“ 14, 2019

Calgaryā€™s Annual Zombie Walk

What: Dress up as the dead and join the hoard for Calgaryā€™s Annual Zombie Walk. Children and pets are welcome. No running. Route leads to HEX Halloween and Entertainment expo.

Sunday, Oct. 13

Butterfield Acres Harvest Pumpkin Hunt

Pumpkin hunt’s at Butterferld Acres run every weekend in October. Butterfield Acres/FB.

What: Jump on a hay wagon with your family to find some kid-sized pumpkins at Butterfield Acres. Then, decorate them and visit some of the farmyardā€™s animals. Make sure to dress for the weather. Children are invited to wear orange for the fall season. One pumpkin per child. Adult hunts also available.

National on 10th Sunday Night Special

What: This Thanksgiving long weekend hit up National on 10th for free bowling, free arcade games and DJā€™s. Drink specials all night for Alberta – brewed beers and hi-balls.

Monday, Oct. 14

Fall Harvest Dinner at The Calgary Zoo

What: Head to the Calgary Zoo for a day of exploring the zoo. Then, hang out with family and friends for a four course turkey dinner in the evening. Family friendly.

Dinner and a Movie at Heritage Park

Wednesday, Oct. 16

Clothes too Good to waste 

What: Clean out your closet and donate, swap or fix your used clothes with other women. Anyone identifying as a woman is invited to bring clothes. Proceeds go towards supporting the Womenā€™s Centre of Calgary. Child minding available.

Rock the Rink

Rock the Rink features some of the world’s best figure skaters. Rock the Rink Tour/FB.
