It’s time once again to shine the spotlight on thousands of would-be superheros, TV characters, comic icons and more at the annual Parade of Wonders to open Friday events at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo.

The 14th annual event officially opened Thursday and they’re expecting more than 90,000 people to attend the four-day expo.

The parade, a partnership between the Calgary Expo and the Calgary Downtown Association, is in its 7th year and brings people out in their favourite costumes, many of which took hours to build and prepare.

The star-studded weekend sees the cast of the Back to the Future franchise, including Michael J. Fox, and it also brings in the cast of the popular 80s movie, the Goonies.

There are events going on all weekend long with visits from a variety of guests in the the comic and entertainment world.
