UPDATE – July 19, 2026: The RCMP has joined the Calgary Police Service in the search for 11-year-old Parker.
Calgary police said that search efforts are focusing on areas connected to Parker’s last known movements and reported sightings, with officers conducting targeted searches, reviewing CCTV and canvassing neighbourhoods.
Information continues to be collected through the non-emergency line (403-266-1234), social media and through community reports.
Calgary police investigators have also started using methods geared towards Parker’s interests and behaviours. Part of that is Calgary police officers playing some of Parker’s favourite Disney songs from patrol vehicles where searches are taking place.
More than 300 CPS members have participated in the searches, and 120 trained search volunteers through Search and Rescue Alberta have conducted searches.
CPS asks that anyone who wants to participate in a search to not interfere with police operations and trained search teams.
New CCTV footage of Parker has also been released.
An emergency alert has been issued for an 11-year-old Calgary boy who has been missing from northwest Calgary since Thursday.
The alert was issued at 1:35 p.m. on July 18, 2026, as a search thus far for Parker hasn’t been successful in locating him.
The case doesn’t meet the typical threshold for an Amber Alert, however, the Government of Alberta has granted an exemption allowing the Calgary Police Service to use the emergency alert system in this case.
According to police, Parker is a vulnerable, neurodivergent child, and investigators are concerned for his well-being due to the amount of time that he has been missing.
Parker was last seen shirtless, wearing dark shorts and black, noise-cancelling headphones. He is 4’11” tall and weighs approximately 90 pounds. The Amber Alert is asking residents of Calgary to keep a lookout for Parker, particularly in the neighbourhoods of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, Highwood, Highland Park, and Greenview.
He was last seen at his day home in the 0-100 block of Connaught Drive NW, sometime between 11:08 and 11:41 a.m. Articles of Parker’s clothing were found around noon in the 0-100 block of Northmount Drive NW, and he was captured on CCTV footage on Thursday, July 16, around 12:52 p.m., taken in the 5000-6000 block of Travis Crescent NE.
“We are grateful to the Government of Alberta for approving the use of the Alberta Emergency Alert system in this case,” said Staff Sgt. and Incident Commander Becky Spohr.
“While this is not an Amber Alert, this alert will help us reach Albertans quickly and generate additional awareness as we continue our efforts to locate Parker safely.”
Police said that Parker is non-verbal and may become even more scared if approached by strangers. If he’s seen, the public is being asked not to approach him, but to call 9-1-1 immediately.
The family also issued a statement on Saturday afternoon.
“Parker is a loved son, brother and friend. Our family is heartbroken by his disappearance.
Since he went missing, our family has been living every parent’s worst nightmare. Every hour that passes without knowing where he is or whether he is safe has been incredibly difficult for us.
We are asking everyone in the community to keep an eye out for Parker. Please check your neighbourhoods, parks, green spaces, yards, sheds, garages, hot tubs and other places where he may have found shelter.
Parker experiences the world in his own way. He may not respond when his name is called, and he can become frightened when approached by people he does not know.
If you see Parker, please do not approach him. Give him space and call police immediately with his location.
A single sighting, a piece of video footage, or one small detail could help bring him home safely. Our only wish right now is to know that he is safe and to bring him home.
The support from our community has been overwhelming. To everyone who has searched, shared his photo, provided information, or kept Parker in your thoughts, thank you. Knowing that so many people care and are looking for our son has given us strength during the most difficult time of our lives.
Parker is deeply loved, and he is missed immensely. We just want our son home.”
