Calgary police have charged a city landlord after an investigation revealed hidden cameras in southwest and northwest Calgary rental properties.
In June, a tenant in a home in the 200 block of Springborough Way SW noticed a hidden camera placed on a surge protector device located in a bathroom, along with one on a smoke detector in a bedroom.
On June 12, investigators executed a search warrant on that home and seized multiple electronic storage devices.
Police believe the landlord installed similar devices in another rental property located in the 3800 block of Brentwood Road NW.
On Friday, July 10, Sooryong Park, who police believe uses the alias Nick Park, 41, has been charged with one count of break and enter and five counts of voyeurism.
According to police, Park may operate as a landlord in Vancouver and Toronto, targeting women in the Korean community.
Police are continuing their investigation. Anyone who may have information about this or similar incidents is asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234.
