Calgary police believe the gunshots fired into a northeast Calgary home were a targeted attack, and they’re looking for a vehicle that may have been involved.

Officers responded to a home in the 100 block of Redstone Common NE on Jan. 24 around 11:30 p.m. after an apparent shooting at the location.

According to police, who reviewed extensive CCTV footage from the area, two unknown masked men approached the residence and fired shots into the unoccupied home.

The suspects were observed fleeing the area by running across a field and were then picked up by a dark-coloured sedan.  Police believe this vehicle to be a 2003 to 2008 Toyota Corolla with black rims.

No one was injured.

Police believe the shooting is connected to ongoing violent extortion incidents in the South Asian community in Calgary. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) said they continue to work with the Alberta Serious Incident Response Teams (ALERT) to identify suspects.

According to CPS, since the start of 2025, there have been 21 extortions related to this series in Calgary, with 11 shootings.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Calgary police at 403-266-1234.
