One person was found dead inside a mobile home that caught fire early Friday, according to the Calgary Fire Department.

According to fire officials, firefighters responded to a fire in the 2000 block of 86 Avenue SE around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 3, after a security guard from a nearby property reported the blaze.

When fire crews arrived, smoke and flames were visible coming out of the windows of a mobile home. After starting an exterior attack on the fire, they began an interior search of the home for occupants.

CFD said that during that search, one person was found dead inside the home. No other occupants were found.

The fire was contained to the mobile home where the fire originated.

The fire is under investigation.

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) has confirmed that there’s no evidence to connect the fire with one at the Ogden Legion that happened early Wednesday.
