The Calgary Police Service have charged 18-year-old Irfan Mohammadi with three counts of aggravated assault, following an investigation into the stabbings that occurred at the Calgary Stampede in July.

Three individuals were transported to hospital on July 8, suffering from wounds that were alleged to have been caused on the Stampede Midway near the Euroslide.

That investigation, which was conducted by CPS District One’s General Investigation Unit, involved witness interviews and extensive review of CCTV footage.

CPS said that they executed a search warrant on Aug. 26, at Mohammadi’s residence which led to the seizure of a folding knife and clothing that were alleged to be consistent with what he was wearing at the Stampede.

Mohammadi will appear in court on Sept. 2.
