Calgary Police are looking to the public to help fill in details related to the death of a 50-year old Calgarian in Hidden Valley.

Investigators said that at 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 2, a woman walking with her husband on the pathway system near Hidden Valley Drive NW, was struck by a cyclist.

“A 12-year-old youth on a bicycle approached from behind and collided with the woman, knocking her to the ground. The woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition,” said CPS, in a prepared media release.

That woman subsequently died of her injuries. CPS said that details on the cause of her death would not be released due to privacy.

CPS said that they were not notified of the incident, and did not attend the scene.

“Impairment and speed are not considered to be factors in the collision, and the investigation remains ongoing,” they said in the release.

Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the incident, and if there was a criminal element to collision.

Anyone with information has been asked to call police at 403-266-1234, or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
