Calgary police investigate death in apparent high-rise fall

Calgary police are investigating after one person was found dead early Sunday morning outside a high-rise in the downtown area.

Police were called to the 1100 block of 3 Street SE around 5 a.m. on June 1 after reports that a person may have fallen from a high-rise balcony.

When police arrived, there was an injured man who was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition, where he later died, according to Calgary police.

The circumstances leading up to the death are under investigation. Calgary police continue to speak to witnesses and gather evidence in the area.

Road closures in the area are expected to remain in place for several hours.
