Data: Advance polling up 39 per cent in Calgary from last federal election

Over the Easter weekend, 270,567 Calgarians cast their ballots at advanced polling locations across the city in the 2025 federal general election.

That figure was up 39 per cent from the 44th general election held in 2021, which saw 195,231 eligible electors cast their ballots.

Across Alberta, the advanced polling was similarly up, although at a smaller 26 per cent with 815,131 ballots cast versus 646,090 in 2021.

In the city, the Calgary Crowfoot saw the largest number of advanced ballots cast with 33,743. Calgary Rocky Ridge, which made up the majority of the riding before changes in 2023, saw 26,217 advanced ballots cast.

That constituency was the fourth highest in the nation for advanced ballots cast, behind Essex (34,668), Saanich—Gulf Islands (37,468), and Carleton (43,394).

The lowest electoral district to see advance polling was Calgary McKnight, which saw 16,435. The constituency overlaps the 2021 electoral districts of Calgary Forest Lawn which saw 9,157 advanced votes cast, and Calgary Skyview, which saw 17,276.

On average, nationally, 21,119 electors cast their ballots for each electoral district.
