Calgary police have charged three people in a month-long investigation last fall that resulted in the seizure of $1.3 million in drugs.
In October 2024, Calgary police were tipped off that several people were conducting activity that they said was consistent with drug trafficking. Officers in District 4 launched an investigation and discovered multiple residences and vehicles they said were associated with the suspect.
On Nov. 21, police raided three homes – one in the 1400 block of 1 Street SE, one in the 1200 block of 11 Avenue SW and another in the 900 block of 31 Avenue NW. They also executed search warrants on a black Acura ILX, and both a black and white Mercedes Benz.
During the execution of those searches, Calgary police found 13 kilograms of cocaine, 268 grams of methamphetamine, 150 grams of crack cocaine, 26 grams of fentanyl, along with the packaging, cookware, scales and dye connected to the production of drugs.
Two men and a woman were charged in relation to the investigation.
Leslie Babajid Cole, 33, of Calgary, Ahmed Merhi Chehadi, 32, of Calgary and Tracy Leanne Suffesick, 40, of Calgary, are all facing multiple charges stemming from the incident.
“Our officers located and seized a significant quantity of drugs during this investigation,” said Staff Sgt. Keith Shufelt of the Calgary Police Service District 4 General Investigations Unit, in a prepared media release.
“These are extremely dangerous substances that were removed from the community and thanks to the work of our officers in the District 4 Operations Team, those who were believed to be trafficking drugs have been held accountable for their actions.”
