Calgary police investigating two separate, deadly fights

Calgary police are investigating two separate, unrelated disputes leaving two people dead, including one teen.

In the first incident, Calgary police were called around 6:30 p.m. on June 6, 2024, to a residence in the 900 block of 1 Street NW in Crescent Heights for reports of an altercation. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from medical issues.

EMS attempted to aid the man at the scene, but the victim died of his injuries. One person has been taken into custody for questioning. Police said the victim and the suspect are known to each other.

Investigators are hoping to piece together what happened in the moments leading up to the fight. An autopsy is scheduled for June 7.

In the second incident, a teen is dead after being stabbed during a fight in the northeast community of Forest Lawn.

According to police, they were called out at 7 p.m. on June 6, 2024, to the 1300 block of 41 Street SE after reports of a fight involving a weapon. Officers arrived to find a teen suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds.

The victim was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition where he later died, police said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit continues to investigate both incidents.
