UPDATE TO THE STORY: Calgary police said that they’ve found and positively identified the remains of a woman who went missing in February.
Calgary police said that over the past several days, officers have been searching rural areas southeast of Chestermere for the remains of Chelsea Davidenas. They said they narrowed the search down and brought in the Calgary Search and Rescue Association to help.
Late Thursday afternoon, members of the Calgary Police Service Missing Persons Team found human remains northeast of Carseland, on Range Road 254 and Highway 901. Working the the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the remains have been identified as that of Davidenas.

Two men have been arrested and charged by the Calgary Police Homicide Unit in connection to the disappearance of Chelsea Davidenas in February 2024.
Davidenas, 29, was last seen on Feb. 17 and was later reported missing to the police.
According to investigators, Davidenas was allegedly lured to a residence on Rundlehorn Drive NE in the early hours of Feb. 17 by two men known to her. It’s believed that she was killed inside the same residence shortly thereafter.
Chelsea’s remains have not been located.
“Our Missing Persons Team and Homicide Unit investigators have been working tirelessly over the last month to locate Chelsea,” says Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn of the CPS Homicide Unit in a press conference Wednesday.
“Tragically, this is not the update that we’d hoped to make. We are committed to finding answers for Chelsea’s family and will not rest until her remains have been located.”
Calgary police believe Chelsea’s remains were removed from the home on Feb. 20 and transported in a stolen, dark blue, low-profile, 2001 Honda Civic with white rims to a rural, lightly-treed area southeast of Chestermere.
The search for Chelsea’s remains continues, focusing east of Calgary, before Strathmore, and not extending further south than the Bow River, said Sgt.Rahn
Authorities were able to arrest the two men of based on a significant amount of physical and digital evidence that has been collected. It is believed Davidenas was targeted due to her history as a sex worker.
Steven Aaron Zwick, 26, and Paul Joseph Rushton, 52, have both been charged with first-degree murder. They are set to appear in court Thursday.
