Calgary police are investigating after a fatal shooting in the city’s southeast late Monday night.

Just before 10 p.m. on Dec. 18, Calgary police were called to the 1800 block of 35 Street SE in the community of Southview for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located one man who had died at the scene next to a truck.

A seriously injured woman was also found, and she was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, according to police. The victim was said to be recovering in hospital.

The service said on Tuesday afternoon that they believed the shooting was targeted, and that the suspect in the shooting and the deceased victim knew each other.

“There is no danger to the public,” said CPS.

Calgary Police are asking anyone with information, photos or video to speak to police at 403-266-1234, or provide tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers.

Investigators said they are looking specifically for video between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., from the 1800 block of 35 Street SE.
