The family of a Calgary woman missing for nearly a year is issuing a public plea for information on her disappearance.

Sheena Ivandeen Beaver, 42, hasn’t been heard from since December 2022. Calgary police initially said back in February that there was nothing to indicate foul play. They reiterated that Friday.

Beaver is described as five feet tall, approximately 130 pounds, with a slim build, brown eyes and brown hair. She’s been known to frequent the Downtown area including the neighbourhoods of Rosscarrock and Sunalta. Police said she does frequent downtown shelters, police said.

“It’s been a year now and my heart aches. It’s been hard on the family, your kids miss you and you now have a granddaughter and grandson,” said Sheena’s sister, Marci Beaver, in a media statement put out by Calgary police.

“Please Sheena come home. We’re not giving up until you are home.”

According to police, it’s common for Beaver to go extended periods without communication with her family. It is believed she has a medical condition, and her family and police are concerned for her well-being.

The length of time is concerning, police said, and they are growing increasingly concerned for her wellbeing.

Police have released two new photos in addition to the original photo in hopes of generating tips on her whereabouts.

Anyone with information about Sheena’s disappearance is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
