Vehicle sought after fatal shooting in northwest Calgary

Calgary police are looking for a suspect vehicle after a fatal shooting in the city’s northwest early Saturday morning.

Around 3:50 a.m. on Sept. 9, Calgary police responded to a person in medical distress outside a home in the 1700 block of 18 Avenue NW. When officers arrived, they found a victim that had what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

The victim died at the scene, police said.

Calgary police Homicide Unit investigators are looking for a red, early 2000s Pontiac Sunfire that was seen in the area at the time of the shooting.

Anyone who may have information on the vehicle or the incident, or if they have dashcam or CCTV footage from Capitol Hill from between 3:30 and 4 a.m. Saturday is asked to call police.
