It’s the final two days of the 2023 edition of the Calgary Stampede and thus far the show hasn’t disappointed.
The weather’s stayed fine, the crowds have been manageable, and the fun hasn’t stopped. This weekend looks like it could be the perfect cap for the 10-day exhibition.
Attendance stayed firm on Day 8 at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, with 129,321 showing up on the grounds on Friday. That brings the aggregate up to 1,107,742. Attendance started super strong, but can it finish even stronger?
There’s still a bunch to do this weekend – and let’s be honest, if you’ve been down to the grounds, you probably haven’t seen all there is to do anyway.
On Saturday, you can check out the AEW wrestling superstars, with their show beginning at 5 p.m. at the Saddledome (Tickets). The Canadian National Miniature Horse Show goes at 11 a.m. and the International Livestock Auctioneer Finals will go at 11:30 today in the Nutrien Western Event Centre.
To top it off today, the Heavy Horse Pull goes at 7 p.m.

Calgary Stampede Rodeo and GMC Rangeland Derby
The Bulls were as rank as ever on Friday, bucking eight of 10 riders. They’re going to have to hang on if some of them want a shot at the big payday on Sunday.
Chuckwagon driver Chanse Vigen continues to recover from a couple of penalty-hit nights to stay in the top three with Layne MacGillivray and Kurt Bensmillier, with the latter leading the way. It’s sure to make for a great final race come Sunday night.
