Calgary Police say Saturday murder connected to Friday shooting

Police are looking for a common suspect in November 11 and 12 shootings

UPDATE: Calgary police took one person into custody in connection with the Friday shooting.

Taylor Roan, 25, was arrested on outstanding warrants related to the shooting in Castleridge on Friday.

The Calgary Police Service is on the lookout for a male suspect believed to be connected to a shooting in Castleridge on November 11, and a shooting death in Falconridge on November 12.

Police responded to reports of gunfire on the 0 to 100 block of Falconridge Place NE on Saturday morning.

Upon arrival they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was later died on scene.

Police are looking for a light-skinned male with a slim build, wearing a blue hoodie, blue bandana, black baseball cap, and a black backpack. The suspect is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, and approximately 5’10” tall.

The service is cautioning the public about approaching the suspect, due to the danger they possess to the public.

“We ask the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons or activity in the area,” said CPS.

“If members of the public see anyone matching this description or people acting suspiciously, we ask that they do not approach them and call 911 immediately.”

Investigators believe the man is connected to a shooting that occurred on Friday, November 11 in the community of Castleridge.

The man shot in that incident was transported to hospital in critical condition.

The male suspect was believed to have fled from the Friday shooting in a stolen Jeep Cherokee with licence plate BXY0501.

Anyone with information on either shooting incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234, or report tips anonymously to crime stoppers.
