Two of the victims are in life-threatening condition, police said.

Calgary police are investigating after a woman was left in life-threatening condition in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision along 17 Avenue SE Thursday evening.

It’s the third hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian in 10 days.

Officers were called to 17 Avenue and 44 Street SE around 7:55 p.m. Thursday after reports of a vehicle hitting a person. According to police, a 27-year-old woman was crossing 17 Avenue northbound when a vehicle hit her.

Calgary police said she was taken to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.

According to police, a dark-coloured sedan with possible front-end damage on the passenger side, did not stop and the scene. It was last seen driving westbound on 17 Avenue SE.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them at 403-266-1234. They’re also looking for any dashcam footage from drivers’ vehicles that may help.

Crescent heights crash

Meanwhile, this crash comes a day after a 14-year-old was hit in Crescent Heights and sent to hospital in life-threatening condition.

According to police, the teen was crossing 1 Street NW at 11 Avenue on Oct. 26 around 12:35 p.m. when he was hit by what’s been described as a four-door black Audi.  Police believe the Audi was being driven at a high rate of speed when it hit the teen. The impact caused him to be thrown 25 metres from the initial impact.

Police said the Audi fled eastbound down an alley. They said it’s believed the vehicle was occupied by two or three teenage males and it may have significant front-end damage.  They don’t believe drugs or alcohol are involved, but speed is being investigated.

Vehicle seized in Montgomery hit and run

After a 17-year-old was hit on Oct. 17 at around 7:05 p.m., police have now found the vehicle.

The teen was crossing 16 Avenue NW at 46 Street with the crosswalk signal activated when he was hit, police said. The vehicle was described as a light-coloured SUV. The teen was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but has since been upgraded to stable, police said.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

According to Calgary police, with the help of Cochrane RCMP and a witness, they were able to locate the suspect vehicle.

Anyone with further information on any of these incidents can call Calgary police at 403-266-1234.
