Calgarians braved the heat of the night at the Stampede grounds on July 14, taking in no small measure the food, games, and rides of the midway.

Temperatures in the city were recorded by Environment Canada at 28.1 degrees at 6 p.m. and eventually fell to 20 at around 11 p.m. That didn’t stop people from lining up for rides, or gathering to watch as others vied for prizes.

LiveWire Calgary was able to capture some of the night’s events from the 3rd floor of the BMO Centre expansion project, and then down on the midway itself as the night drew to a close with the Grandstand show fireworks.
