Calgary police are looking for as many as six suspects in a stabbing at the SAIT LRT station that sent a man to the hospital.

Police have now pieced together footage from Calgary Transit closed-circuit TV that shows several of the suspects they believed to be involved.

Just prior to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to the SAIT CTrain station in the 1400 block of 14 Avenue NW after reports of a man in medical distress. Police said the man was taken to hospital in serious condition with serious injuries. He was later upgraded to stable condition, still in hospital.

After further investigation, Calgary police said a group of six men is believed to have assaulted the victim in a stairwell connected to the Jubilee Auditorium and the SAIT LRT station.

According to police, the incident ended with the stabbing. The suspects then fled the scene.

The victim was able to make it up the stairs on the CTrain platform and use the emergency call button.

Police don’t know if this was a random attack or if the victim knew his attackers.

Anyone with information on this is asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234.
