Body found in a southeast Calgary black bin

Calgary police are investigating after a body was found in a black bin in the southeast community of Ramsay.

Around 11:50 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, Calgary police were called to the 700 block of 24 Avenue SE. They said the body was located in a waste receptacle.

CPS confirmed that it was found by a City of Calgary Waste Services employee.

At this time, the death is considered undetermined, and the CPS Homicide Unit has been brought in.

An autopsy has been scheduled for next week. No additional information is available at this time.
