Calgary police seek information in three-decade-old missing persons cold case

Calgary police are hoping to uncover new clues in a 32-year-old missing persons cold case.

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) and Crime Stoppers have joined together to continue the investigation into historical missing persons cases.

They’re asking for the public’s help on a case involving 29-year-old Moui Nguyen. Nguyen, who was also known as “Ni,” was last seen by the family in January of 1990.

Nguyen was a Vietnamese refugee who arrive in Calgary from Thailand in the mid-1980s. She worked at a downtown coffee shop and a clothing store called La Quinta Fashions. That store was located at 855 – 2 Street SW.

According to police, it was reported at the time that Nguyen had ended a relationship with a partner prior to her disappearance.

Calgary police are hoping to identify and speak with people who may have information on Nguyen and her whereabouts in January 1990.
