Just short of 400,000 Calgarians went to the polls on Oct. 18 to cast their ballots in the 2021 municipal election.

Of the 847,556 electors in the city, 46.4 per cent or 393,090 electors cast their ballots.

This was up from the 39.7 per cent of voters who cast their ballots in 2018 vote on whether Calgary should have hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The 2021 turnout was lower than in 2017 for that year’s municipal election when 58.1 per cent of voters cast a ballot.
