Two masked men are being sought after a daytime armed robbery at a jewellery store in a northwest Calgary mall on Monday.

Calgary police were called to Northland Mall at 5111 Northland Drive NW after two men entered and went to Tany’s Jewellery. Once inside, the men used a fire extinguisher and threatened staff with a gun before stealing several jewellery items on display, police said.

The men fled the mall and left in a black Lincoln sedan.

People affected by the fire extinguisher spray were treated on scene by EMS and the Calgary Fire Department, police said. No one was taken to hospital.

The first suspect is a white male, wearing a grey hoodie and ballcap with the hood up and a surgical mask covering his face. He wore jeans, black gloves and had a backpack, police said.

The second suspect had a red hard hat, construction vest, blue jeans, light gloves and was carrying a black bag.

Police are looking for any cellphone or dashcam footage from the parking lot at the time of the robbery. Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234.
