Bear warning issued for Fish Creek Provincial Park

Parks said that although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis region anytime.

There is no indication as to when the advisory will be taken down.

Parks is reminding people to avoid a surprise encounter with a bear by:

  • Making plenty of noise
  • Travel in groups
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Keep pets on leases
  • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it

All bear sightings can be reported at 403-591-7755.
