If you want one of the more than one million Amazon items direct to your door, Calgary, you can now get it same day.

Amazon Canada made the announcement Thursday that Calgary would join Toronto and Vancouver as the only cities in Canada connected by Amazon Prime free same day delivery, seven days a week.

“As we’ve seen in Toronto and Vancouver, Prime members absolutely love free, same day delivery when shopping on Amazon.ca,” said Mike Strauch, Country Manager for Amazon Canada, in a prepared release from June 27.

“We are excited today to announce the launch of Prime FREE Same-Day Delivery in Calgary as well, offering Prime members unparalleled, fast access on over one million products at no additional cost.”

Late in 2018, Amazon opened a fulfillment centre just north of Calgary, in Balzac, that employs nearly 1,000 people. That 600,000 square foot facility fills orders for Western Canada.

Previously the city was serviced by one-day delivery through Amazon.
