It’s decision day for Alberta, and NDP Leader Rachel Notley cast her ballot this morning for the 30th general provincial election.

In Edmonton’s Old Strathcona, Notley walked to the polling station with her family and 10-year-old pup, Tucker. Before the ballots were cast, Notley mentioned it’s her two children Sophie and Ethan Arab’s first time voting in a provincial election.

Afterwards Notley encouraged all voters to go and make their voice heard today. On social media the Premier said it’s time for Albertans to decide the future.

“This election is about electing a premier you can trust, a premier who’s character you can count on and a premier who shares your values.”

Alberta Party Leader Stephen Mandel also voted this morning in his Edmonton constituency. On Twitter the former Edmonton mayor says it’s been an honour working alongside his candidates on the campaign trail but now it’s time for Albertans to decide who will lead the province into the future

Notley’s main opponent, United Conservative Party Leader Jason Kenney, cast his vote last week on the first day of Advance polls.

Liberal Leader David Khan also cast his ballot on the first day of Advance polls at SAIT in Calgary.

Polls are open today from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with early results expected to come in around 9:00 p.m.
