Calgary community of Southwood charts new course forward

The Southwood Community Vision is now complete! Thank you to everyone who contributed their ideas through our survey, multiple workshop sessions, and at the open house.

This Vision represents what residents in Southwood love about our community and the types of things we would like to see in the future. The vision will serve as a foundation for the Community Association that can help us in the future by:

  • Being a document that can be used as a guide for how the planning committee evaluates applications;
  • Guiding us in discussions with developers and the City on what’s important to Southwood residents; and
  • Creating a starting point for future planning work on a Local Area Plan.

On the last page the Vision (document below) talks about how to achieve the goals set out throughout the document. If you have any ideas that you would like to bring forward to the community, please feel free to contact Becky Poschmann to discuss the ideas and look at how they can be achieved.

Thanks to Ben Morin of the Federation of Calgary Communities for supporting us in this process, as well as neighbours and dedicated volunteers Mia Tarraf, Travis Davidson and Becky Poschmann for their hard work on the project.
