DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nJoin Nature Calgary for a bird walk on St. Patrick's Isla
 nd on September 27\, 2024 and observe the fascinating variety of birds fou
 nd in their natural habitat. Summer is winding down and we're starting to 
 see more migrating birds head back into Calgary from their breeding ground
 s to the north. The gulls will also be returning down south and there will
  be lots of them! We'll talk about some of the native plants that are stil
 l blooming and maybe even spot one of the beavers or mink that frequent th
 e Island!\n\nOur knowledgeable guide will share fascinating insights about
  the birds and other wildlife you encounter and and talk about their behav
 iours\, making this a great educational opportunity for nature enthusiasts
  of all ages.\n\nWe will have binoculars available for participants who do
 n't have them. Space is limited so don't miss your chance to discover the 
 beauty and diversity of Calgary's birdlife on this exciting nature walk!\n
 \nThese walks are presented in partnership between East Village and Nature
  Calgary\, with all registration fees being donated directly to Nature Cal
 gary.\n\nAll walks will start and end at the East Village Headquarters\, l
 ocated directly north of 656 Confluence Way SE on the RiverWalk pathway.\n
 \nPlease note that this is an outdoor event please dress for the condition
 s. We will provide notice in writing and refund your tickets if the weathe
 r meets the following conditions:\n\n 	Heavy rain\n 	Heat advisory\n 	Smok
 e Advisory\n 	Temperatures below -20C including wind chill\n 	At the discr
 etion of CMLC supervisor based on weather conditions.\n\nThe upcoming bird
 ing event is accessible to all\, regardless of age or ability.\n\n 	The pa
 thways are flat. Some pathways are unpaved but they are well compacted. Th
 e paved pathways are cleared for snow but there may be icy patches. Guides
  will exercise discretion based on the group's abilities on which pathways
  they will take. Please let the guide know if you feel uncomfortable with 
 any chosen path - want to ensure you feel safe!\n 	Nature Calgary has take
 n measures to accommodate those with sight or hearing impairments\n 	Guide
 s are knowledgeable about bird calls to assist those with sight impairment
 s\n 	Sight cues will be available for those with hearing impairments\n 	Do
 gs are not allowed at the event unless medically necessary. This helps ens
 ure the safety and comfort of the wildlife\n 	The event is LGBTQ+ friendly
 \, welcoming people of all orientations and identities.\n\n\n
