Calgary police are investigating after a woman was struck and killed by the LRT Saturday evening.
According to police, officers were called to the scene around 10:35 p.m. on Nov. 11. Police said the CTrain was travelling southbound on 36 Street NE, crossing over 16 Avenue NE when a female stepped in front of the train in an area where there is no pedestrian access, and was struck.
The woman died at the scene, police said. The train driver, who was not injured, stopped and remained at the scene.
Speed, alcohol and drugs aren’t considered to be factors in the collision, according to police.
The CPS Traffic Section is investigating and working to identify the woman.
