Mayor and Me – Episode 15: Calgary housing strategy

We’ve opened up this episode to all LWC readers and listeners this month, because it’s an important conversation going on in the city.

This month, LWC editor Darren Krause and Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek dissect some of the issues around the upcoming Calgary corporate housing strategy and some of the Housing and Affordability Task Force recommendations that were – and weren’t – included in the upcoming presentation and conversation.

So far, there’s more than 100 people signed up to speak on this critical topic in Calgary, so staying informed with quality information is key in this debate.

There are a lot of dissenting opinions on how Calgary can tackle a growing housing crisis and talking about it and sharing ideas on it is how the city can move the ball forward.

We’ve made this conversation available to all Calgarians, but our monthly conversations on hot Calgary civic issues is usually exclusive for our $10/mo+ Patreon members. Given the challenges in local media and the ongoing threat of collateral impact with Bill C-18 (Online News Act), we hope that everyone taking the time to listen sees value in the work we produce and signs up to become a member. Or, if you just want to provide a one-time contribution to high value local journalism, you can do that here.

We hope you enjoy the conversation and we’ll have more on the housing situation in the lead up to the Sept. 14 debate.
