Voyeurism charge laid against Calgary teacher following an alleged sexually-motivated offense

Calgary police have laid charges against an individual in relation to a sexually-motivated offense at a school in southwest Calgary in May 2023.

On May 30, 2023, administrators at Chinook Winds Adventist Academy reached out to the police to formally report an incident.

According to the report, a teacher was found engaged in an inappropriate sexual act while alone in a classroom. Allegations were made that this act was carried out while the teacher was purportedly observing students through a window.

In response, an investigation was launched by the Detectives from the District 4 General Investigations Unit. This investigation included interviews with multiple witnesses and an evaluation of collected evidence.

On August 16, 2023, 41-year-old Nathanial Arthur Gordon was arrested and charged with one count of voyeurism. Gordon is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Sept. 28, 2023.

While the offense is believed to be sexually motivated, there is currently no evidence suggesting the victimization of any children.

Calgary Police Service investigators thanked the administration of Chinook Winds Adventist School for their continued cooperation throughout the course of this inquiry.

Anyone who possesses information about this incident, or who is a victim of a crime is urged to contact the police.
