Parking free, transit service reduced, rec facilities closed for Family Day Monday

The City of Calgary will be adjusting hours and closing a number of services on Feb. 20, for Family Day.

Calgarians are being asked to plan ahead for trips on Calgary Transit, as the service hours for the CTrain, bus routes, and On Demand service are being reduced to Sunday hours.

Additionally the Calgary Transit Call Centre and customer service locations at the Bow Parkade and Centre Street Platform will be closed on Monday.

Parking will be free on-street on Monday, and holiday rates will be in effect at Calgary Parking Authority parkades and surface lots. The CPA impound lot will be closed.

All of the city’s recreation facilities, except for the Southland Leisure Centre, Village Square Leisure Centre, Ernie Starr Arena, Frank McCool Arena, Optimist/George Blundun Arenas, and Shouldice Arena will be closed for Monday.

City Hall will be closed to the public, reopening on Tuesday for services at 6 a.m.

Southland and Village Square will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the arenas will be hosting free public skating from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Calgarians looking to use the holiday to offload some trash will be able to use the landfills from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
