There is no other way to describe Squonk than weird—but wonderfully so.
The prog-rock post-industrial dadaesque super-group is visiting Calgary for two days as part of their Hand to Hand tour, courtesy of Arts Commons.
Free shows are taking place at noon, 4, and 7 p.m on Aug. 30 and 31 at Olympic Plaza.
Each show features Squonk founder Jackie Dempsey on keyboards, Steve O’Hearn on bagpipes and wind synth, Jeremy Papay on drums, David Wallace on electric guitar, and Tony Thomas on bass. Alongside a pair of house sized purple hands.
