Man dead after northeast Calgary shooting

The Calgary police are investigating a shooting in the city’s northeast that left one man dead on Wednesday.

Police were called to the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard NE just after 10:30 p.m. on April 20. They had received multiple calls about gunshots being fired in the area.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting and a man who had suffered what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound.

The autopsy will be done at 9 a.m. Thursday.  If it’s determined this is a homicide, it would be Calgary’s 11th of 2022.

Police are still investigating the event leading up to the shooting. They’re asking anyone that may have witnessed the incident or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, to call police.
