Two vehicles sought in fire, suspicious death in Douglasdale

Calgary police are looking for two vehicles in connection with a fire and suspicious death in a southeast Calgary community.

On Friday at around 5 a.m., emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Douglas Ridge Green SE in Douglasdale for reports of a house fire.  Once the fire was extinguished a body was found inside, police said.

Major Crimes and Arson investigators took over the investigation at the scene. Given the nature of the event, police deemed the death suspicious.  Crews must secure the scene before additional work can go ahead. The fire caused considerable structural damage, police said.

Police are hoping to piece together events leading up to the fire. They’re hoping to locate two vehicles that are believed to be associated with the residence.

They’re looking for a 2009 grey Chevy Colorado with an LOK Energy Services Inc. logo on the driver’s side rear quarter panel. The second is a black Kia Sportage.

(The Kia Sportage is a stock image, police said.)

Anyone with information is asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234.
