Update from the Calgary police.
An Amber Alert had been issued by the Calgary police, involving a two-year-old taken from southeast Calgary.
According to police, the two-year-old boy had been taken by his mom, in the Inglewood area in Calgary. It happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of 9 Avenue SE.
It happened following a supervised visitation with his mom, Calgary police said.
Calgary police said that more than 70 members participated in the search for the pair. Patrol members, covert resources, tactical officers and crisis negotiators helped lead investigators to the mom and son.
The CPS Domestic Violence Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
They are asking the public to be mindful of the family’s privacy as they work through details of the situation.
